This piece was inspired by Bruce Nauman, for his interest in utilizing everyday occurrences in his art making.  Utilizing photographs of my hand over the course of two-months, I’ve documented the constantly changing to-do list on my hand.  Important events, people’s names, and inconsequential reminders all share both the same organic space and the short lifespan, only to make room for new additions and necessities that replace and mark over the older and forgotten issues.  While this act of marking on one’s body is juvenile, it creates a sense of urgency, accomplishment, and history that could not exist in any other form.
